The Mechanics' Institute Review is delighted to be celebrating ten years of publishing great short stories, and invites you to come and have a drink, a biscuit, and hear some readings.
Desmond Byrne, Lucy Hume, Gaylene Gould, Amanda Crane, Evie Wyld and Charlie Fish will all be reading from short stories published in the issue.
The Mechanics’ Institute Review is a literary anthology based at Birkbeck, University of London, which publishes work by well-known authors alongside the best short fiction from the Birkbeck Creative Writing Programme. Previous contributors have included Lisa Appignanesi, Jonathan Coe, Susan Elderkin, Jean McNeil, Joyce Carol Oates, Kate Pullinger, Rose Tremain, Bernardine Evaristo, Salena Godden, Sarah Waters, Ali Smith, Chris Adrian, Kevin Barry, Jenn Ashworth, Julia Bell, and Alison Macleod.
